Have you ever taken a moment and stopped to think about who you want to be in this life? Most people don’t. Most people just accept that this is all that they are and all that they are capable of. From my experience as a counsellor, I am amazed on a daily basis how people can set goals for change and improvement and succeed, even in the most difficult situations! The best advice I can give you is that you need to be in a place where you are prepared to “Show Up in Your Own Life” so that you can be ready to change, set some goals and work very hard to achieve those goals. It is hard work to really be the main character in your own life, to take full responsibly and dig in; but it is what it takes to change. You don’t have to settle for the way things are going; think bigger than that because you deserve to live a full life with all the personal success.

Today…here are some tips to get you started…

Three Ways to Start Showing Up in Your Own Life Today:

  1. Stop Comparing Yourself with Others: This is never helpful. When you compare yourself with others, all you are comparing is what they let you see. You have no idea if they really feel as confident as they look. Focus on what you do well, your goals and what is working for you.
  2. Release what is no Longer Serving You: If you find that you have a particular pattern of doing things that is not working, learn and try new ways. You can take a workshop to improve your skills, you can Google tips that other people suggest and you peruse some of the eLearn modules that I have developed 😉
  3. Make the Best of Unplanned Moments: Often we can find ourselves in situations that we did not plan for. Having to wait longer for appointments, having to wait longer for a ride home, having to stop and help someone in need. Use these times to shut your nagging head off, put aside the thoughts that tell you that you need to be somewhere else and savor the moment. Fully immerse yourself in what is happening now, you may find that you learn something new about yourself and what you are capable of 🙂
